Muestra los personajes, la postura y describe la vestimenta de su tiempo. El autor a veces firmaba como García Cabral y en ocasiones solo como Cabral. Sgún el hijo del autor, comenta que para su padre era más contundente el apellido Cabral. Cabe mencionar que el autor también se dedicó a la historieta.

Cartel cinematográfico elaborado para la película de principios de los años 50, "Acá las tortas", protagonizada por Joaquín Pardavé. Al autor le gustaba combinar las tintas negras matizándolas con color amarillo, además de que durante los años 40's y 50's había una tendencia a combinar colores fuertes. En el cartel se aprecia el estilo y la forma que usa el caricaturista para representar al protagonista de la película; aunque su rostro no aparece muy detallado es reconocible por su anatomía corpulenta. Por otro lado, a García Cabral le encantaba jugar con la tipografía y los estilos de las letras que aparecen unas veces con marcos y otras sin ellos. El cartel es una forma de grabado o de estampado, y para su elaboración el autor trabajó con los técnicos caratulistas.

En esta ilustración el autor representa a la mujer con una anatomía más delgada, con trazos más finos; lleva puesto el clásico gorrito y las zapatillas de la época. Los listones del gorro y su falda son movidos por el aire y puede notarse su figura femenina; además lleva algunos instrumentos en un portafolio y un libro que va leyendo; podría tratarse de una estudiante de arquitectura o de dibujo. Además el autor representa un ave que da la sensación de libertad.

En esta caricatura García Cabral representa a un maestro y su alumno. El rostro del maestro de edad avanzada aparece cansado, con mirada de anguistia y su alumno prestando atención con cara de pícaro; además se aprecian otros elementos que componen la escena como el mapamundi y un cuadro decorando el salón. La representación del niño fue importante para el autor, lo representa como un niño latoso, guerroso, pícaro. Aunque en la época no se prestaba mucha atención a los niños, Cabral los representa en múltiples ocasiones.

Caricatura de crítica política donde se representa un reloj que simboliza la República Mexicana. El presidente Madero comienza a desarmar ese reloj y después no lo puede armar. Esta caricatura junto a "El perrito" y "Ya te estaban dando más importancia que a mí" dieron pauta para que le otorgaran una beca en París, aunque realmente se pretendía que dejara de criticar al gobierno. Regresa 6 años después al país.

La revista Multicolor, dirigida por Mario Vitoria, criticaba constantemente al presidente Madero, quien mandó desterrar, bajo pretexto de otorgar una beca a Francia en 1912, a Ernesto García Cabral. El caricaturista aprovechó la ocasión para aprender nuevas técnicas y fue ahí donde absorbió la corriente del Art decó; le gustaba la vida parisina porque en ese tiempo los mejores pintores radicaban allí.
