En esta ilustración el autor representa a la mujer con una anatomía más delgada, con trazos más finos; lleva puesto el clásico gorrito y las zapatillas de la época. Los listones del gorro y su falda son movidos por el aire y puede notarse su figura femenina; además lleva algunos instrumentos en un portafolio y un libro que va leyendo; podría tratarse de una estudiante de arquitectura o de dibujo. Esta portada es muy reconocida, ha sido presentada en diversas ocasiones para mostrar la obra de García Cabral, convirtiéndose en un clásico. Representa a una mujer pintando, en una actitud retadora y a la vez sensual, con un atuendo que deja ver su figura usando zapatillas; sostiene un pincel, a la vez que fuma. Destacan la manera en que García Cabral representa tan bien el humo del cigarro, así como la figura, el contorno y los demás elementos para armonizar la postura de la mujer. En este periodo, las ilustraciones de Ernesto "El Chango" García Cabral rompen con algunos estereotipos en torno a la mujer, apoyando al género femenigo. Representa muchas mujeres toreras, futbolistas, boxeadoras, entre otras.

En esta época varios caricaturistas realizaron colaboraciones para anuncios publicitarios como zapatos, cigarros, cervezas, camiones Ford, entre otros. Destaca la participación cuantiosa de "El Chango" García Cabral. En esta caricatura se anuncia un jabón y se representa a la clásica dama de los años 20's y 30's de París. Se aprecia la influencfia parisina, así mismo, en las líneas finas, en la proporción y en el detalle de los holanes. Existe una gran cantidad de dibujos publicitarios de alta calidad de autoría de García Cabral; algunos fueron firmados y otros aparecen sin su firma.

Cartel cinematográfico elaborado para la película de principios de los años 50, "Acá las tortas", protagonizada por Joaquín Pardavé. Al autor le gustaba combinar las tintas negras matizándolas con color amarillo, además de que durante los años 40's y 50's había una tendencia a combinar colores fuertes. En el cartel se aprecia el estilo y la forma que usa el caricaturista para representar al protagonista de la película; aunque su rostro no aparece muy detallado es reconocible por su anatomía corpulenta. Por otro lado, a García Cabral le encantaba jugar con la tipografía y los estilos de las letras que aparecen unas veces con marcos y otras sin ellos. El cartel es una forma de grabado o de estampado, y para su elaboración el autor trabajó con los técnicos caratulistas.
