Forma parte de un conjunto de viñetas autobiográficas titulado "Consagrados por la fama". En esta viñeta se muestra al autor como alumno lectivo de la Academia de San Carlos. Representa al personaje trabajando en su restirador, donde se trazan detalladamente los elementos que componen la escena: el restirador, la silla, el cuadro, el portaláminas, el desorden, etc. En algunas entrevistas Ernesto "El Chango" García Cabral hace referencia sobre las dificultades que vivió en un inicio para desarrollar ciertas imágenes, no obstante, debido a su talento superó dichas dificultades.

Forma parte de un conjunto de viñetas autobiográficas titulado "Consagrados por la fama". Esta segunda viñeta representa el momento en el que Ernesto sale de la sierra en Veracruz para dirigirse a la Ciudad de México, en donde estudiaría en la Academia de San Carlos gracias a una beca de 25 pesos otorgada por el gobernador de aquella época Teodoro A. Dehesa Méndez. En esta viñeta se muestra su alegría irónica: la salida de la sierra en una mula con el equipaje envuelto.
