En este conjunto de caricaturas "El Chango" Cabral maneja un estilo costumbrista, donde registra la vida cotidiana, las costumbres, la vida social, los cambios sociales, así como la inflación, la carestía, la desigualdad y el desempleo. En esta crítica social, aunque ya no dibuja temas políticos, hace también una crítica al régimen. Ya no dibuja a los personajes públicos de la clase gobernante pero retrata una crítica social, como las malas costumbres de la población, la inseguridad que viven las clases sociales y la población en general. Retrata a una gran variedad de personajes como vendedores, policías, cirqueros, boxeadores y toreros. La riqueza de su trabajo consiste en el enfoque sociológico y de patrones de conducta.

También conocida como "El perrito". García Cabral la representó como símbolo de la revista Multicolor, pues a su juicio, la revista tenía "buen olfato" para la profesión periodística. Por otro lado, se rumoraba que representaba a la esposa del presidente Madero, la señora Sara Pérez Moreno, y el poco carácter del presidente. Aunque el caricaturista desminitió esta versión y señaló su respeto por la Primera Dama, esta caricatura fue determinante para que le extendieran una beca a Francia ya que representaba a un animal por encima del Presidente de la República.

Se trata de una caricatura demoledora, en la cual se representa un gran abrigo que simboliza la presidencia, con las cejas y bigotes característicos de Francisco I. Madero; de esta manera el caricaturista expresó que el puesto de presidente le quedó grande a Madero, además de que afirmaba que tenía todas las características para ser criticado.

La revista Multicolor, dirigida por Mario Vitoria, criticaba constantemente al presidente Madero, quien mandó desterrar, bajo pretexto de otorgar una beca a Francia en 1912, a Ernesto García Cabral. El caricaturista aprovechó la ocasión para aprender nuevas técnicas y fue ahí donde absorbió la corriente del Art decó; le gustaba la vida parisina porque en ese tiempo los mejores pintores radicaban allí.
